In its third year running the Red Bull Music Academy Festival New York will be bringing a blockbuster list of artist to New York in May. The Red Bull Music Academy Festival started in 2013 as a way to recognize the world-traveling Red Bull Music Academy, and at the same time explore and pay homage to New York City’s rich cultural heritage, while promoting the music of the times.
The month long festival offers more than just performances from big names. The Red Bull Music Academy Festival offers some insight into what makes a culture like New York’s so unique, and long-lasting. Throughout the different events such as workshops, or lectures this event presents not only the opportunity to be in the vicinity of a well-known individual, but the chance to get to know some of the people and things going on behind the scenes of the music industry. While the history and culture are a huge added bonus, this year’s festivities will include big time artists A$AP Rocky, FKA Twigs, and George Clinton at venues around the NYC area such as Villan, Brooklyn, Bazaar, Verboten and Beaux-Arts Court at Brooklyn Museum.
