If you’re not familiar with the mind-stretching PC Music, this post will likely make very little sense to you. If you are, it still won’t make a lot of sense but at least you’ll expect that. The polarizingly distinctive label/genre/brand is extending their hefty presence at SXSW this year with a Boiler Room session, put on by Boiler Room and Dailymotion. Called “Dog Food”, the show focuses on a SPINEE & GFOTY collaboration, with GFOTY as master cook and SPINEE as, well, a dog. They’ve made the most powerful dog aphrodisiac on the planet, but they’re having trouble with manufacturing deadlines for the launch event. Confused? It makes more sense if you listen to the just released 8-minute teaser mix Dog Food 1 on soundcloud, featuring their signature saccharine, oh-so-catchy vocals laid over chaotic grinding beats, with snippets of skits revolving around the dog food theme and trouble brewing in the dog food factory. Just kidding, it still makes no sense, but it’s still so exciting to hear! At any rate, it seems the show will be free with RSVP and feature performances from some of your favorite PC Music DJs like QT, A. G.
