Paul Francis Gadd, better known by his Stage name Gary Glitter has been jailed for the next 16 years after being convicted on several charges. Glitter is best know for his past as a glam rock star.
A British judge has sentenced the 70-year-old singer to 16 years in prison after his conviction of attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault, and having sex with a girl under the age of 13.
Unfortunately this isn’t the first time that Glitter had a run in with legal authorities in accordance to his sexual preferences. He’s previously been convicted for child pornography and even spent time in a Vietnamese jail. But mostly he’s also known for having assaulted three girls between 1975 and 1980.
Judge Alistair McCreath said to Glitter at the sentencing “You did all of them real and lasting damage and you did so for no other reason than to obtain sexual gratification for yourself of a wholly improper kind.” the Judge also implied that he would’ve liked to give the singer a longer sentence, but he needed to adhere to the “less severe” maximum sentences allowed at the time when the crimes were committed as spin.com reported.
