Multiple criminal offenses result in the impending incarceration of one of Pearl Jam’s early members.
An arrest warrant has been issued in Denton, TX for ex-Pearl Jam drummer Dave Abbruzzese on charges of both possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear on a manufacture or delivery of substance. The former offense is considered only a misdemeanor, but the latter is actually a felony that could send him jail for anywhere from 5 years to life.
Abbruzzese joined Pearl Jam in 1991, filling in for temporary drummer Matt Chamberlain. Pearl Jam has been through their fair share of drummers, but he recorded with the band up until 1994 and was a part of both the album Vs. and the LP Vitalogy. He left soon after these recordings due to a personal incompatibility with the rest of the band, which is still going strong today.
Pearl Jam just recently finished up a tour last year to further promote their latest album, Lightning Bolt, which came out in 2013.Lightning Bolt reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard Top 200 which made it the band’s fifth album to do so. It also received a grammy for Best Recording Package in February 2015.
