My Morning Jacket has debuted two new tracks, “Compound Fracture” and “Only Memories,” which are expected to be included on an upcoming release by the group.
The band played the songs for the first time during their second annual One Big Holiday Festival in Riviera Maya, Mexico. Consequence of Sound reports that My Morning Jacket headlined three of the four nights and saved space in each set for new material. Now there’s footage of them performing “Only Memories” and “Compound Fracture.” The songs are expected to appear on one of the two upcoming albums the band will be releasing in 2015 and 2016.
“Only Memories” is a lengthy track with a slow beat and influences from the R&B and psychedelic genres. “Compound Fracture” is more fast-paced than the other new track, and sounds more like a classic rock song with an emphasis on drums and guitars. Check out fan footage of both songs below.
My Morning Jacket will be making the rounds at lots of festivals in 2015, including the Hangout Music Festival in Alabama in May, New York’s Governors Ball Music Festival and Tennessee’s Bonnaroo Festival in June, and Louisville’s Forecastle Festival in July.
