Darkness Falls Announce New Album Dance and Cry For March Release

The dramatic and spooky pop-rock duo, Josephine Phillip and Ina Lindgreen, have announced their forthcoming album!

Darkness Falls, based in Copenhagen, have sliced themselves a piece of the pie with their first LP, called Alive In Us, as well as their single “Hey”, which became the most played song on Danish radio in the year 2011. They are looking to carve out another piece with their next album, Dance And Cry.

If the name of the album is any indicator, their upcoming release will draw from much of the same energy that has propelled them into the limelight of pop-noir. The two have managed to coagulate a mix of rock and pop influences into something obscure and unique, that deserves its own attention and commands the listener to come back to their sound again and again; what lies in the darkness seems to change like some slow moving shadow of smoke that changes between the time you turn away and when you revert your gaze back upon its nebulous form. Theres also sweeping electronica and dance hall potential. One of their singels, “The Void”, has been remixed by numerous disc-jockeys and masters of the ceremony, to grace the pulsing floors of clubs across the world. Their videos are also extremely well done.

Their vocal mood blends perfectly with the music. There are harmonies, and verses rotating and swarming around each other; there is a softness as well beneath the power that calls their sound home. They will support their forthcoming album with a tour throughout Denmark and some of Germany. Dance and Cry will be produced by Adrian Aurelius, Lasse Martinussen and Anders Rhedin.

The band has spoken of their diverse sound before.

In our music, there is something for the mind, something for the heart, and something for the feet too

Stay tuned more information about the release of this next and highly anticipated album, from which they have released the eponymous single.
