Modest Mouse reward eager fans with the penultimate track from their forthcoming album Strangers to Ourselves after delaying its release.
After Modest Mouse’s decision to delay the release of their latest album Strangers to Ourselves, Pure Volume has announced that the indie rockers from Washington have unveiled another new track. Encouraging more anticipation for the band’s first record in eight years, this follows the release of the audio for “Lampshades On Fire” and the video-accompanied “Coyote.”
The song embodies a politically heavy topic: the degradation of Western Civilization. “These Western concerns are all I ever really learned to be concerned with / But don’t you, don’t you know it’s hard / Feeling tired every time that you try?” sings lead vocalist Isaac Brock. The track is reminiscent of the sound of We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank, featuring Brock’s exaggerated vocals that come together seamlessly with its indie rock instrumentals.
