Jack White returned to the stage for a short US jaunt before his blowout gig at Madison Square Garden on Friday. Last night, in his hometown of Nashville, Tennessee, White pulled a few tricks from his sleeve, one of which included an onstage reunion of The Raconteurs.
White, one of the 4 musically involved members of The Raconteurs, was part of the first performance from the group in three years. On top of White’s recent Dead Weather work, the promise of new Raconteurs music has fans of the group and of White, on edge. White invited Brendan Benson and Jack Lawrence onto the stage during the set’s encore to play “Salute Your Solution” and “Steady, As She Goes.” With the announced invitation, the crowd went abuzz.
During the same concert, White also invited Loretta Lynn to the stage, for a duet of “Portland, Oregon” from her 2004 album Van Lear Rose, which White produced. They also performed “Whispering Sea”. Lynn, a multiple gold album singer and songwriter, has work spanning over 50 years in the country music industry.

Pandora has partnered with Jack White and Third Man Records to livestream White’s sold out Madison Square Garden show on Friday, January 30th at 9pm EST. The live stream is expected to gain a lot of attention from many of White’s long time fans and also draw attention to those that respect and are enticed by his ability to work and blend other styles and genres of music into his personal work.
White also will be headlining Coachella on Saturday April 11th and 18th, performing on the same day as Hozier, Alt-J, and Weeknd.
Crave Online had a video of the Nashville show performance.
As you can hear, with the announcement of the band the crowd erupts into cheers. The fast paced guitar and heavy percussion pairs well with the energy of the venue and the almost shouted lyrics from White. The venue responded positively to the rock blend of the music and revival of the older Raconteurs sound and chemistry. At the end of the video the crowd erupts into more cheering and shouting as White and the members gather towards the center of the stage to play the final chords as White walks from the group.
