Wovenwar has released a new music video for their song, “Death to Rights,” from the band’s self-titled debut.
Wovenwar came into being in 2013, when the members of As I Lay Dying found themselves at a crossroads, following the conviction of founding member Tim Lambesis. The remaining members – Nick Hipa, Phil Sgrosso [guitar], Josh Gilbert [bass, vocals], Jordan Mancino [drums] – chose to carry on with their careers. They rebranded themselves as Wovenwar and brought in Shane Blay (Oh, Sleeper) to take over vocal duties.
As Wovenwar’s bio reads, “Our choices define us. At heart, we choose between good and evil or right and wrong. It’s not predisposed, but rather something we learn through experience, life’s twists and turns, and the stops along the way.”
Their decision to carry on with Blay, at the helm, has proven very successful. “Death to Rights” comes from the group’s self titled debut that was released in August of 2014, which – according to a press release – peaked at #1 and #2 on the iTunes metal and rock charts, respectively.
In order to create the video for “Death to Rights”, the band teamed up with Loudwire to premiere the Josh Klein and Nick Hipa-directed project.
In a press release Wovenwar guitarist Phil Sgrosso stated, “Here is our new music video for our song, ‘Death To Rights’. The clip is mainly performance based and incorporates manipulated imagery relating to our album art. We are stoked to share it with you all.”

In addition to releasing the new video, the Christian metal band is on the road on a massive North American tour. Of the tour Sgrosso stated,
“As I write this, we are in the middle of the ‘Juggernaut’ tour with our buds Periphery, Nothing More and Thank You Scientist. The tour is off to a killer start, as we make our way through the west coast. From watching each band every night, you can’t help but be impressed by the technical proficiency and musicianship this tour has to offer. Add the fact that every band and crew is comprised of rad dudes. This tour kicks 2015 off on the right foot.
Immediately following the ‘Juggernaut’ tour, we are excited to be joining forces with the almighty In Flames and All That Remains on the ‘Charming America’ tour. Having a long touring history with both bands, we know there won’t be a shortage of good times, OR BEER for that matter.”
