The New Jersey punk rock band, who have an album on Don Giovanni Records forthcoming this year, have released a new live video.
The more and more appealing New Brunswick punkers, who have five albums under their belt, three of which have been released by Don Giovanni records, known for their punk rock and underground releases, have released new video for a previously unreleased song called “It’s Not Fair”, that is an honest and sparse presentation of a band who sounds great live, and looks good while doing it. This trio offers up something that has gone by the wayside, which is live performance that is tight and sounds like recording, without the overly pervasive additions of hours of post production and mixing and tweaking and modifying. The style of their music fits the way they play, and the way they play needs nothing but guitar and a bass and drums, and an expressive voice to top it off. The aesthetic of all black leaves the viewer focused on the subjects, and the music.
Marissa Paternoster, who was named the world’s 77th best guitarist by Spin recently, sings expressively and leaves nothing behind, and the same kind of energy can be felt throughout the band, which is perhaps what drove Lance Bangs to agree to film their video. Lance Bangs is a legendary music video director and editor, having worked over the years with artists like Pavement, The Black Keys, Kanye West and LCD Soundsystem.
Look for Rose Mountain soon to come from Don Giovanni Records!
