LISTEN: Delerium Release New Song “Glimmer” Featuring Emily Haines

On Jan. 27, 2015, Canadian electronic act Delerium are to release a new EP featuring an unreleased song, called “Glimmer”, that features Emily Haines of Metric.

Delerium has existed since the 1980s; so, it’s no surprise that they’ve accumulated an extensive back catalogue of unreleased tracks. But, “Glimmer”, originally recorded in 2005, did not come to light until now “by happenstance,” said Delerium’s founder and core member Bill Leeb in a press release. The group’s music engineer and mixer, Greg Reely came across the song that features Emily Haines of Metric, while going through some of Delerium’s past recordings.

“As it turns out, this track comes from the Chimera album sessions when I collaborated with Carmen Rizzo and Jamie Muhoberac,” Leeb said in a press release.

Delerium has a history of working with strong vocalists on other tracks like “Days Turn Into Nights” that featured Michael Logen, “Monarch” that featured Nadia, and Sarah McLachlan on “Silence”, which was the group’s most commercially successful single, according to a press release.

So, what is the overall message of “Glimmer”?

“The song’s words remind us even in the darkest moments when it seems all is lost, with perseverance and a little luck, we can find our own place and keep that glimmer of hope,” Leeb said in a press release.
