Emile Haynie Releases New Song “Wait For Life” Featuring Lana Del Rey

Emilie Haynie has dropped a new track, featuring contralto swooner Lana Del Rey. Check it out!

This new track, which will take its place among other tunes on Haynie’s debut album, We Fall, offers an excellent vocal track from Lana Del Rey, who has worked the the Buffalo, NY, born producer in the past. Emile has produced several of Lana’s hits, such as “Burning Desire”, “Dark Paradise”, “Blue Velvet”, and “Summertime Sadness”, as well as having credits for producing tracks by Gorillaz, Bruno Mars, the Rolling Stones, and Linkin Park.

The song is highly cinematic, and emotive. The strings compliment Lana Del Rey’s voice fantastically, and the mood of the instruments fit sad dejectedness of the lyrics. There are contradictions, such as “I can’t let you in, I can’t keep you out” which lend understanding to the deep frustration heard throughout the track . There is a searing staticky guitar that comes around every once in awhile that is panned to perfection through both speakers. The song is sad, and befits rainy days and memories of something lost that cannot be found or returned. The bridge features some soaring throat work by Lana and it really works well for the mood that pervades the whole track by not only alluding to the shimmering guitar, but by withdrawing the listener for a solid round of measures to reintroduce the familiarity of the refrain.

We Fall will be released on February 24th, 2015 via Interscope.
