Alex Omes, founder of Ultra Music Festival, was found dead on Monday.
The co-founder of Ultra Music Festival, 43 year-old Alex Omes, was found dead on Monday. His cause of death is unknown, according to a Miami-Dade County medical examiner.
Ultra Music sent out a statement regarding Omes passing stating,
“The organizers of Ultra Music Festival extend their deepest condolences to the family of Alex Omes and are saddened by the news of his passing. We will continue to remember and celebrate Alex for his love, passion and contributions to the Electronic Dance Music community.”
Omes worked with Ultra Music Festival until 2010, when the festival split with Winter Music Conference, resulting in a 33 million dollar lawsuit.
Before co-founding Ultra Music Fest, the largest EDM festival in the country, Omes worked as a bouncer in Miami and as a publisher of the nightlife magazine D’VOX.
Before his death, Omes worked as a concert promoter with Emi Guerra, including events with Swedish House Mafia. Although Omes was involved in a lawsuit trying to regain Ultra Music Fest, he continued to support Miami’s EDM scene and nightlife.
