Tim Drummond, bassist for Neil Young and Bob Dylan, died at age 74. According to Ultimate Classic Rock a cause of death has yet to be determined
According to the Rolling Stone the news was confirmed by the coroner’s office in St. Louis County Mo. While Drummond had experience working with many artists throughout a wide range of genres, he was best known for his work with classic rock artists. Drummond played on most of Neil Young’s albums throughout the ‘70s such as Harvest and Comes A Time. He was the bass player on Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young’s 1974 tour. He also co-wrote songs including “Saved” with Dylan and “Down in Hollywood” with Cooders.
Drummond performed with various other artists during his 40 year music career. Some of these legends include Conway Twitty, James Brown, Miles Davis, and Jewel. Additionally, Drummond has worked on albums for the Beach Boys, Ry Cooder, and Don Henley.
