The Cat Empire Announce Spring 2015 Tour Dates

Though they missed out on touring North America in 2014, Australian sextet the Cat Empire will be touring the U.S. and Canada extensively this upcoming Spring in support of new music.

During the month of April, the Cat Empire will hit major U.S. cities from Boston to Honolulu and cover Canada from coast to coast as well. The band is excited to perform some new material in two of their favorite countries to tour. As lead singer Felix Riebl explained:

“We’re excited to get back to North America in 2015. We’re coming off the summer festival season in Australia, and some time in the studio, so there should be some new songs and a lot of energy from within the group.”

According to a press release from the band, the Cat Empire intends to release these new tunes on a subscription basis, meaning that diehard fans will have the first crack at them.

Though the band hasn’t been in the States or Canada since 2013, they have been active in the festival scene. This includes impressive performances at both Spain’s Bilbao BBK Festival last July and Belgium’s Pukkelpop Festival month later. The last time the band played a Canadian or American festival, however, was 2013’s Ottawa Blues Festival, and the band is anticipating a warm welcome in the Spring.
