Gliss Release New Song “Mirrored”

The Danish and American have released an edgy new track bound to be heard in afterparties across the underworld. Give it a listen!

Inhabiting electronic realms slightly outside of pop, Gliss, the globetrotting duo, has released a new single track, which was recorded in both Los Angeles and Berlin. The influence of Berlin’s teeming nightlife is represented here both sonically and visually; the video was directed by Lex Loverde who uses an ambiguous setting and high definition closeups and dissolves to create a creepy yet crystalline experience. The song starts similarly to something off of Röyksopp’s latest album, and the visuals accompany this dark and ambient prologue, which suddenly gives way to Victoria Cecilia’s reverberant melodies as the song opens up to a traditional pop structure.

This song is the band’s first recorded release of 2015, and marks for them a return to recording, as they have not released new material since their 2013 album Langsom Dans.

While they are principally known for producing and mixing their own music, the multi-instrumentalists Victoria Cecilia and Martin Klingman have also worked with Gareth Jones for mixing, who is known for his collaborations with Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, and These New Puritans.
