Aphex Twin Announces New Album Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments Pt 2 For January 2015 Release

The Irish electronic musician and composer Richard David James, better known as Aphex Twin, announced through his record label, Warp, the January 23rd, 2014, release of Computer Controlled Acoustic Instruments pt2 EP.

This new album by James comes on the heels of his studio album, Syro, just released September 23, 2014, and a release of 30 unreleased tracks in junction with an interview with David Noyze.

The past few months have yielded success for James, topped off with a 2015 Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album from Syro. Results for the Grammys will be announced February 8th, 2015.

James has also announced in a recent interview with Groove Magazine that he is working with a developer to create music software.

“Basically it starts with a sound, analyzes it, then does different versions of variations. It randomizes, it compares all of them to the original and then it picks the best one. It sounds totally awesome, but it needs to be tweeked a little bit. I will continue with this. I have a whole book full of ideas for software and instruments.”
