You really can’t tell what is new The Afghan Whigs video for “The Lottery” – a gesture of gratefulness or a subtle jest. I guess, everyone will decide for himself.
Ryan O’Hara, “a monitor engineer and cougar magnet,” as described by the band’s frontman Greg Dulli, is the sole character shown doing some crazy behind-the-soundboard moves. Singing and dancing while flipping the switches at the board during The Afghan Whigs’ live shows, Ryan often leaves the band with open mouths.
“It’s phenomenal to watch. Occasionally, I’ll forget to sing because I’m watching him turn into Bez from Happy Mondays,” says Greg Dulli.
Nothing like the dreamy black-and-white picture in “Lost in the Woods” and urban dancing protest in “Matamoros,” the new video for “The Lottery” will leave you smiling for the rest of the day. As smartly mentioned by SPIN, O’Hara’s skills are now public for all to see.
