The Mowgli’s are an American alternative rock band from southern California. They are named after a former band member’s dog Mowgli (a name from a character in The Jungle Book). The band originated in Los Angeles, and is composed of Dave Appelbaum, Colin Louis Dieden, Katie Jayne Earl, Josh Hogan, Matthew Di Panni, Spencer Trent, and Andy Warre.
The band released their first recordings in March 2010. Some of the songs included demos of “San Francisco,” “The Great Divide,” “Time,” “I’ve Been Around” and “Waiting For The Dawn.” With the successes of their demos, the group rented a house in Venice Beach, California and spent several months performing shows in the area to create a name for themselves.
The Mowgli’s overall mission is to encourage people to come together and practice random acts of kindness. They created Be A Mowgli website to further this where they support local and national charities including, Charity Water, Relay for Life, UR Awesome, Happy Bottoms, and No More.
