Joey Bada$$ was arrested for allegedly assaulting a security guard in Australia. The Brooklyn rapper has pleaded not guilty to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

According to Pitchfork, one of Joey Bada$$’s representatives said the following: “There was a misunderstanding with security at the Byron Falls Festival show, which resulted in charges being laid by NSW Police. After fully cooperating with Police, Joey was granted bail and entered a plea of not guilty to the charge.”
Allegedly Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott (Joey Badas$$) punched a security guard in the nose when he did not recognize the rapper and would not let him backstage. According to Spin News after Scott punched the guard he went on stage to perform and was arrested shortly after his performance. The rapper spent the night in jail and was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The security guard suffered a broken nose and was sent to the hospital following the incident.
Bada$$ made bail and appeared in court where he pleaded not guilty to the charges. According to Spin News Bada$$ will continue his tour in Australia next week. Joey Bada$$ commented on his situation in a tweet that can be found below.
