iTunes Announces It Will Give Customers Refunds On Any Purchase Within 14 Days

Apple’s iTunes service has announced it will allow customers to return any song or album for a full refund, as long as the order is cancelled within 14 days.

NME reports that this will be a ‘no questions asked’ policy. The new terms and conditions for iTunes read: “Right of cancellation: If you choose to cancel your order, you may do so within 14 days from when you received your receipt without giving any reason, except iTunes gifts which cannot be refunded once you have redeemed the code.”

Some are afraid that the new policy will lead to inaccurate chart placings for certain artists. They believe that fan groups may purchase multiple copies of an album then return them under the new rules, all to increase the chart position of that album. Though there have been no official comments from chart compilers, it has been noted that there are already rules which track and disqualify multiple-purchased albums from both online and physical music retailers.
