LISTEN: The Hunts Cover “O Holy Night”

The Hunts, a seven-piece band of siblings, have released a cover of the Christmas standard “O Holy Night.”

Ranging in age from 16 to 24, the members of this indie-folk band have been playing music together for almost their entire lives. They can play a wide variety of instruments, including violin, piano, mandolin, drums, banjo and ukelele. The Hunts were recently signed to Cherrytree Records/Interscope, released their debut EP and a music video for the track “Remember Us,” and they even played at the 2014 Austin City Limits Music Festival.

The Hunts’ cover of “O Holy Night” showcases Jenni Hunt’s voice on the verses, but the siblings all harmonize during the chorus of the song. Their version of the track is less of a ballad than most covers, and the indie-folk sound The Hunts are known for is a fresh take on it. You can listen to the cover below, where the video is a still image with snowflakes falling over it throughout the song’s play time.
