Ryan Adams Says He Is Drawing His Own Comic Books And Recording A Soundtrack

Ryan Adams has been an unabashed comic book reader his entire life, and now he has taken it upon himself to pen a series of his own.

Marvel’s weekly podcast, This Week In Marvel featured Adams in a guest appearance, during which he confirmed that he’s writing new comic series and recording soundtracks to accompany each individual volume. While writing the series during his downtime from touring, Adams will also be seeking a publisher and a colorist for his illustrations.

Ryan Adams has been on a huge creative burst as of late. The announcement of the comic book series comes on the heels of Adams’ Grammy nomination this year. He has also been releasing slew of covers by The Dead Kennedys and Jenny Lewis. Outside of his music and his upcoming comic series, Adams has made headlines of less entertaining sort. Earlier this year, Adams yelled at a fan for taking photographs of him, but as it turned out, it was because the singer has had Meniere’s Disease for quite some time.

As there’s no colorist or publisher for the comic book just yet, there’s no word as to when the series will hit store shelves, but Adams hopes to have the first volume out sometime next year.
