System of Down’s first performance of 2014 was over the weekend at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas festival in Inglewood, California. The group’s 16-song performance was a walk down memory lane, featuring music from their entire career.
System of a Down began their set with the fan pleaser, “Chop Suey!”. The crowd yelled and cheered for more as the band covered a wide range of songs including “Ariels”, “Needles”, and “Lonely Day”. System of a Down concluded their performance with “Sugar”.
KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas was held December 13 through 14. In addition to System of a Down, other performers included U2, Smashing Pumpkins, and Weezer. All proceeds for the show went to local charities Para Los Ninos and the Al Wooten Jr Heritage Center.
In addition to this performance, System of a Down recently announced dates for their 2015 spring tour. Their first scheduled stop will be on April 10 in London, UK’s Wembley Arena. The “Wake Up The Souls” tour is meant to commemorate the Armenian Genocide.
