WATCH: Smashing Pumpkins Cover David Bowie’s “Fame” With Die Antwoord’s Ninja

What starts as a rocking cover of David Bowie’s “Fame”, becomes a crazy, cursing, screaming freestyle by Ninja, Watkin Tudor Jones from Die Antwoord, December 6 at Trabendo in Paris.

Billy Corgan, the frontman for the Smashing Pumpkins, totally controls the stage, singing and playing guitar until the drummer switches up to a hip hop beat, that’s when everything falls apart. The band begins setting up the music for Ninja to rap with them, but he seems hesitant. Finally the band switches up the beat one last time and Ninja begins rapping incoherently about “Muthafuckin’,” and “…Smashing Pumpkins”, then stage dives, inviting Corgan to join him, but Billy is too busy dancing awkwardly to a beat that seems out of his wheelhouse.

The fans in attendance love it, hold up Ninja, set him back on stage, he flips off the crowd, then flips off Billy, thanks everyone and leaves.

The video for the collab in Paris can be seen below.
