CeeLo Green kicked off his Loberace tour in Las Vegas, and the entire Las Vegas performance is now available to stream on Qello, the number one on-demand streaming service for concerts and music documentaries.
The show begins with an introduction from CeeLo himself, in a sort of monologue that is in a James Bond style. As he talks, scantily-clad women adorn the screen, doing Charlie’s Angel’s poses. As you may be able to tell, there are a lot of pop culture references throughout the performance. The Bond Girl motif continues throughout the show.
The live performance begins with dancers that one might expect at a Las Vegas show, including gold, glitter and tall headpieces. CeeLo begins outfitted in a loose-fitting sequin getup that also may adhere to expectations in that city. He sings both his own songs and covers, including “Need You Tonight,” originally by INXS.
Boy George also steps in during a break and costume change for CeeLo, and he sings a mashup of Culture Club hits, such as “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me,” “It’s A Miracle,” and “Karma Chameleon.” CeeLo then tells the audience how big a fan of Boy George, Earth Wind & Fire, and other artists he used to be, which led him to his career choice.
