Merill Garbus and tUnE-yArDs, New England world beat outfit, just back from the huge world tour, involving both North America and Europe, have given a performance at Conan’s, and the girls totally know how to handclap and sing weirdly.
Following cool colorful video for the title song “Real Thing” from the May-released album Nikki Nack, the band has performed “Water Fountain,” changing emotion from joyful to angry and visa versa, and you definitely won’t guess what happens next with those guys. As mentioned by pastemagazine.com, Garbus hasn’t just been serving the world of music, however—she’s also formed a nonprofit fund, similarly named “The Water Fountain,” to raise money for assistance with water shortages around the world.
With the help of the odd costumes, painted faces and whimsical dance moves, tUnE-yArDs are becoming more and more beloved by the fans; even Conan O’Brien got impressed by all happening on the stage.
