Noise rock groups are notorious for pushing the boundaries of both music and the visual spectacles that naturally go along with it. With the video for “Straight,” all the standard rules of introduction in music videos are out the window for A Place To Bury Strangers. There’s no easy transition into the video for “Straight.” Start the video and one is jettisoned into an analog assault on one’s visual and auditory senses. The music of A Place To Bury Strangers, which is riddled with fuzzy guitar tones and various distortion effects, pulsates through the speakers while unnerving imagery flashes periodically on screen. Also, Sasquatch is prevalent. A Place To Bury Strangers is either on the prowl for Sasquatch themselves or they find the possible real-life presence of the furry curiosity mind blowing. Whatever the reason for the images that are shown, A Place To Bury Strangers is out to shock the world just ahead of the planned release for their upcoming record, Transfixiation, which is set to see the light of day on February 17th.
