A new Lana Del Rey track composed for Tim Burton’s latest project has surfaced, along with an accompanying lyric video.
After recording the extraordinarily memorable track “Young and Beautiful” for the highly anticipated film The Great Gatsby, releasing her sophomore album Ultraviolence, creating simplistically picturesque video for her album’s title track, and performing an awe-inspiring show at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in LA, Lana Del Rey is back with another beautiful tune for Tim Burton’s upcoming film, Big Eyes.
Burton’s latest project is a biopic about Margaret Keane, an American artist from the 1950s and ‘60s whose husband was wrongly credited for her iconic work of big-eyed children.
Del Rey penned two songs for Big Eyes, entitled “Big Eyes” and “I Can Fly.” A preview of the title song has been released, accompanied by a lyric video and teasers of scenes from the movie. Lana’s signature heartbreakingly melancholy vocals and lyrics of doomed romance are not lost in this new track. Preview the song, courtesy of Yahoo, below.
UPDATE (12/4): Lana has released the full length tracks for both of the songs made exclusively for Tim Burton’s newest silver screen production. “Big Eyes” appears about halfway through the film, while “I Can Fly” can be heard during the closing credits. With another two soothingly whimsical tracks under her belt, at least one is sure to receive a nod for a Best Original Song nomination at the Oscars. Listen below.
