In anticipation of his forthcoming solo album, Arcade Fire’s Will Butler reveals a single that is sure to have you dancing on your feet.
Last week, Arcade Fire’s Will Butler announced that he would be releasing debut solo album entitled Policy. Yesterday, Butler shared a trailer for the album showcasing a slew of short clips and a few snippets of new songs. Merely hours later Butler unveiled the full track for one of those snippets, Policy’s lead single, “Take My Side.”
If you’re looking for music similar to Arcade Fire’s sound, you’ve come to the wrong place. Butler’s rhythmic, guitar-heavy single almost echoes that of Jack White and the White Stripes. Over loud, powerful guitar riffs Butler begs, “Are you gonna be on my side or their side? Are you gonna take my side?” This rock ‘n’ roll track with a swing influence proves that Butler is here to take over the music scene with his own unique style. Policy will be out via Merge Records on March 10. Listen below.
