The legendary influential band, The Velvet Underground have dropped a previously unreleased version of “One of These Days”, to help promote the super deluxe 45th anniversary reissue of their self-titled third LP, scheduled for release on November 24.
According to SPIN, the track includes the original “lost” ending, which was not present when the song first appeared on the 1985 album VU.
The deluxe album’s fourth disc of six titled “The 1969 Sessions,” consists of numerous previously unreleased tracks including alternative mixes, mono versions, a live album originally recorded at the Matrix in San Francisco, and what’s known as The Velvet Underground’s “lost album”, a bunch of songs that were mostly “scrapped”. Some of these songs were either previously released on their post-breakup albums VU and Another View, or on Lou Reed’s first solo album and 1970’s Loaded.
Formed in 1964 by Lou Reed and John Cale, The Velvet Underground was an American rock band, managed by Andy Warhol and was the house band at his studio. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
