One of the grindcore titans, Napalm Death, are about to make it for the 15th time! Tireless British\American outfit has released a single from their upcoming 15th studio record ‘Apex Predator – Easy Meat’, due to be released January 27, 2015 via Century Media. And the new song, ‘Cesspits’, premiered on Decibel, is vociferously declaring the band is in their best shape ever!
The band’s frontman Mark ‘Barney’ Greenway talks about the new song to blabbermouth:
“‘Cesspits’ is both literally and figuratively about people living in holes. It is perhaps one of the ultimate indignities and one of those things that a blind eye is often turned to. The subject matter called for a very savage delivery, and although there are quite a few musical facets to this song, it doesn’t stop letting rip.”
Talking about the meaning of the forthcoming album to Decibel Magazine, Napalms’ lead vocalist tells:
“Some in power like to declare that slavery is consigned to the history books. But if you look beneath the surface it is alive and well in many different forms – it just has a different face now, and exists in ways that may seem ethically ambiguous. Using the terminology of evolution particularly interests us, so in this case the ‘Apex Predator’ represents those who bring the slavery to bear (and capitalize from it), and the ‘Easy Meat’ is of therefore those who feel they have no option but to comply.“
Just before returning back in the spotlight, it was announced via band’s Facebook page that Napalm Death longtime guitarist Mitch Harris won’t be temporarily performing with the band, due to the illness in his family. Thus, expect a ponderable replacement!
Napalm Death and Voivod joint North American tour called ‘Through Space And Grind’, is to begin January 27 in Miami. See the full list of dates here.
And in the meantime, anticipating for both the new album and the grand tour, get grinded by Napalm Death new ‘Cesspits’ punishment!
