Fleetwood Mac is a British-American rock band that formed in 1967 in London. The two most successful periods for the band were during the late 1960s. They reached the number one spot with their song “Albatross.” Later, around 1975-1987, they became more pop-oriented. Their new sound was demonstrated in their second album, which became highly successful.
Their second album, Rumours, consisted of four U.S. Top 10 singles, and remained at number one on the American Albums chart for 31 weeks, as well as reaching number one in various countries around the world. To date, the album has sold over 45 million copies worldwide, making it the sixth highest-selling album of all time. In total, the band has sold over more than 100 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time.
Fleetwood Mac is in the process of releasing a new album. According to member Buckingham, it’s about 75% completed. The album is hopefully going to be released early 2015, but could change due to commitments to their world tour.
