XTRMST have released a new video for their new single “Conformist,” and the video bolsters the title better and more literally than any other music video.
AFI’s Davey Havok and Jade Puget have joined forces to form a new hardcore group called XTRMST. The new video for the song “Conformist” gives us a slight taste into what we can expect from the group, with both socially conscious lyrics and head-banging, earth-shattering music. The “Conformist” video features a bunch of people in red full-body suits that are suddenly intruded upon by someone in a white full-body suit. What follows is a rather dark sequence of events that plays to the difficulty of non-conformity in twenty-first century society. As shocking as the video is, it certainly asks questions that few people dare to ask themselves, and the result is a video that almost forces the listener to take a look into the darker aspects of society.
Both Havok and Puget have taken their observations and ruminations on life and society and set them to music in their upcoming self-titled record, which is due out on November 17.
