WATCH: Kindness Releases New Video For “Who Do You Love” Featuring Robyn

Kindness’ latest release for “Who Do You Love” is, arguably, the most touching and sentimental video you’ll watch all day.

If you haven’t gotten the chance to see it yet, Kindness’s new video for “Who Do You Love” is a heartwarming display of simplicity. Directed by Daniel Brereton, the video showcases a diverse array of individuals throughout the course of a black-and-white montage – including portraits of Adam Bainbridge (Kindness) and featured collaborator, Robyn.

There is a subtle gratification that comes with observing the expressions and actions of each unique person that graces the screen. A toddler bashfully smiles and fidgets; a man clad in a hat and scarf looks up and out of the frame as if pondering something significant; a young woman playfully giggles to herself; a boy shares a laugh with his mother as she lovingly embraces him; Robyn shares a moment with an elderly man. Each person has their own story to tell, their own feelings to express. With minimal effects, the video allows each person to express themselves – and all without muttering a single word.

“This video and this song is about people and connection, and how you can identify who you are by those you love. Those people say a hell of a lot about you. Daniel’s idea was a series of portraits of our closest friends and family – in a way, the most revealing portraits of us possible. There’s something about seeing all these people together, all these people that would do this for us – it makes the song make a little more sense, and a little more powerful,” Bainbridge expressed to Pitchfork.

The video speaks levels without generated embellisments or tricked out effects – and that, is what makes it compelling.
