Robert Plant Allegedly Turned Down An $800 Million Offer For A Led Zeppelin Reunion

Reports have surfaced that Robert Plant allegedly turned down an $800 million offer for a Led Zeppelin Reunion. Plant has yet to confirm whether or not these allegations are true.

According to Blabbermouth, these allegations first appeared in The Mirror. According to these reports, the deals were proposed by British mogul, Richard Branson. Branson is a fan of the band, devised the idea for a tour within 35 dates in three locations. These reports make additional claims that Branson also offered the group a separate $111 million for the merchandise for the tour.

While this news has not been confirmed, these reports do align with controversy surrounding Led Zeppelin that arose last year. Plant set the record straight, following rumors of a reunion, that there was no chance of Zeppelin would take the stage again.

The group last played together in 2007 at London’s O2 Arena. The reunion special was incredibly successful and a film version was premiered in 2012 to compensate all the fans that missed the opportunity to see the group.

According to Blabbermouth, “One source “close to the band” spoke of Plant refusing the offer: “They have tried to talk him round but there is no chance. His mind is made up and that’s that.” Another “insider” said, “Jimmy, John, and Jason signed up immediately. It was a no-brainer for them but Robert asked for 48 hours to think about it. When he said no and ripped up the paperwork he had been given, there was an enormous sense of shock. There is no way they can go ahead without him.”
