Los Angeles’ Club Nokia was the last stop-off in the US leg of Jimmy Eat World’s Futures 10-year anniversary tour, playing to a sold-out crowd in the modern, corporate venue. Fittingly it was the scene of one of their recent visits to the city of the angels, where they also thrashed out the 10-year celebration of their Clarity LP, as the band noted on their Instagram account.
Playing with not one, but two encores, the quartet played the album in it’s entirety before coming back on and playing three of the four new tracks found on their Stay On My Side Tonight EP. Being that the EP was released 12 months after the Futures LP, the evening really was a celebration of this era in the band’s history.
Closing the evening with four straight tracks from their most well-known LP Bleed American, the band left the crowd on an energetic high, before vanishing into the night to leave it to one’s imagination what they have in store for us next.
