Listen: Decemerists Release New Song “Make You Better”

The Decemberists released their new song “Make You Better”. The song come off their new album, What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World which is set for release on January 20 via Capital Records.

After a few years in hiatus, The Decemberists have come back with new material. The group is made up of Colin Meloy, Chris Funk, Jenny Conlee, Nate Query, and John Moen. There new album is regarded as a highly emotional work that will move listeners.

As the first released single from the album, “Make You Better” has set the stage for what fans can expect for the full album. The song itself is quite mesmerizing. The song is very mellow as the vocals blend with the steady strum of the guitarists in the background.

In a press release, the album is described as, “fuller and richer, inspired in part by Leonard Cohen’s 1977 collaboration with Phil Spector, Death of a Ladies’ Man. As The Decemberistsremained committed to “letting the songs become themselves,” What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful Worldfound its final form, a distillation of the best things about this remarkable band.
