Makers Of Sour Patch Kids Will Buy Special Houses For Bands To Stay In For SXSW 2015

The makers of Sour Patch Kids are offering bands special housing arrangements for SXSW 2015. In a quid pro quo arrangement, artist who stay in the house are expected to create content for Sour Path Kids.

The first house that was made available to artist was a four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath house in Cobble Hill known as “Brooklyn Patch”. The new house that will be available for SXSW will be called the “Austin Patch”.

In a statement from Farrah Bezner, the marketing director at Mondelez International explained that these Sour Path’s efforts are in an attempt to appeal to teenage consumers. Dependent on the length of time that an artist stays in the provided housing, will determine how much content will need to be created. The content will be used across a number of Sour Path Kids digital channels including their social media pages.

More precisely, in an article by Brooklyn Vegan, the scale is described in more detail. “An artist who stays in the house for a day or so will only be obligated to create a small number of social-media posts. In the event that an artist stays longer, the output is expected to be more substantial, though the type of content is up to the artist. It doesn’t necessarily even need to be musical,” is stated in the article.

The results of Sour Path Kids’ housing arrangements will be seen during SXSW 2015. Those interested can browse the Tumblr page for the Brooklyn Path opportunity that was available to some artists previously.
