Kasabian released their cover of the “Ghostbusters” theme song, in time for Halloween.
Kasabian covered the theme of “Ghostbusters,” one of the most iconic movie theme songs. The song had been recorded in September of this year, as reported on NME. This acoustic cover was played for US radio station, Sirius XM but just surfaced on the internet.
The band, whose sound usually is a combination of fast rock beats and electronic melodies, took a much-toned down approach with this cover. The song is simple acoustic sound, compared to the original humurous rendition. The song began with the intro being played with a guitar and then the sounds of tambourines were mixed in. Kasabian’s style could not be forgotten so the band included subtle but noticable keyboard melodies in the background. It is definitely a much more laid back tune but gives the classic a hip, cool vibe that brings it in to the modern times.
Kasabian made the cover their own and gave “Ghostbusters” a fresh, new take.
