OK Go has released a new song for their video “I won’t Let You Down”. The video premiered on NBC’s “Today” segment.
Ok Go’s premiere of the new video goes hand-in-hand with the release of their new album Hungry Ghosts via Paracadute/BMG. The album is current available for sale here.
“I Won’t Let You Down” was shot using a custom “multi-copter camera” and filmed in a single shot. Directors Damian Kulash and Kazuaki Seki partnered with Honda Motors to create this visually stunning video. Honda let the band the UNI-CUBS, an omni-directional driving wheel system that is still in the development stage.
Throughout the video there are a number of synchronized movements that propel this high energy video forward. The choreography is more spectacular as each movement is executed perfectly to continue recording the video in a single frame. Even the simple use of colored umbrellas as props fit perfectly into the planned movements of the entire video.
The band has seen a great deal of success in addition to the release of the new video. They were asked to perform on October 29 for a special Q&A/performance at Los Angeles’ Grammy Museum and a second special event on November 14 to appear at the Fitzgerald Theater in St Paul, MN.
Ok Go will perform on the “Late Show with David Letterman” on November 11. Additionally, the group will go on tour March of 2015. Their first show is scheduled for the 21 at the Warfield in San Francisco, CA.
