CMJ has finally come to an end. Saturday night featured the final performances of the music marathon. Although there were over 150 showcases, some attendants were able to make it to the Cameo Gallery the last night to hear the Dave Harrington Group perform really cool experimental electronic arrangements.
Walking into the room where the band was playing, one immediately noticed the crystal-like objects hanging from the ceilings and theatrical fog smoke and lights rotating throughout the room. It looked like something from Avatar. What made it even more euphoric was the band’s cool psychedelic and trippy musical arrangements. Will Epstein lead on the soprano saxophone, while the rest of the band played overlapping down-tempo ambient rhythms and melodies.
Other bands that closed the night and CMJ were Buscabulla, Porcelain Raft, The Fictionists, The Stone Foxes, Sam Bisbee, Spookyland, amongst many more.
