Liam Gallagher’s Band Beady Eye Announces They Are Breaking Up

In the era of announcing important information through social media, Liam Gallagher followed suit by announcing that his post-Oasis band, Beady Eye are breaking up.

The band which formed in 2009, along with former Oasis guitarist Gem Archer, Andy Bell, drummer Chris Sharrock and at one time also included ex-Kasabian bassist Jay Mehler, originally formed to continue the Oasis style of music after Gallaghers well publicized departure from Oasis in August of 2009.

Beady Eye has released two studio albums, Different Gear in 2011 and BE in 2013.

Without giving any reason for the breakup, COS speculates that the band just “petered out.” A string of tour dates were cancelled after Archer fell down the stairs at his home, and suffered a skull fracture. The band returned to the UK for a series of shows, to Japan in March and performed at Coachella in April, but according to NME, the band split with their longtime manager Scott Rodger in January.
Ghallager has also been dealing with a nasty battle over child support with New York Times writer Liza Ghorbani, the mother of his daughter Gemma.
