Zane Lowe Re-Imagines Drive Soundtrack Featuring Chvrches, SBTRKT and Foals

BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe has curated a brand new soundtrack for Drive. The new album, Radio 1 Rescores: Drive – Curated by Zane Lowe, features artist such as Chvrches, SBTRKT, Foals, and many more.

The original 2011 Drive Soundtrack featured music by Cliff Martinez, Chromatics, Kavinsky, College and Electric Youth. After the release of the soundtrack, it soared to number four on the iTurnes music charts. Critics noted that the soundtrack flowed seamlessly with the film and the formula for each song made it seem as if one band sang the entire soundtrack.
In an effort to recreate the same amazement of the original soundtrack, Lowe took on this project to rescore the movie. All the tracks except for one are completely new and were solely created for this project.

On October 30 BBC Three will broadcast the film Drive. Viewers will be able to choose which soundtrack to listen to throughout the broadcast of the film. Lowe said this project is “the most ambitious, awesome thing we’ve ever done.”

The full tracklist has yet to be released to the public. At this time only the full list of participants are known. This list includes Chvrches, Foals, SBTRKT, Jon Hopkins, Laura Mvula, the 1975, Baauer, BANKS, Bastille, Bring Me The Horizon, Eric Prydz, the Neighbourhood, and ZCC. Also Chvrches song “Get Away” is currently available on soundcloud. Fans can listen to Chvrches track below.
