Annie Clark, better known as St. Vincent, will be releasing a new two-song EP on November 28 as part of Record Store Day’s Black Friday event.
The EP will be a 10-inch vinyl record, consisting of tracks “Pieta” on the A-side and “Sparrow” on the B-side, according to Consequence of Sound. The former is a song that St. Vincent has been performing live since February, but has yet to be released on an album. On the website for Record Store Day, “Sparrow” is described as “a deep musing on death and loss that recalls the sonic textures of Big Science-era Laurie Anderson.”
Friday, November 28, will be Black Friday for most people – the day after Thanksgiving, when stores open early and have deals that could only happen once a year. Record Store Day decided to participate with Back to Black Friday, featuring releases by 5 Seconds of Summer, The Decemberists, Game Theory, Korn, Neil Young and many more. The actual Record Store Day in April is limited-time, while Back to Black Friday allows independent record stores to carry those releases for as long as they want.
