Legendary rockers Metallica will be playing live at BlizzCon 2014, a gaming convention in Anaheim, California.
BlizzCon is for fans of Blizzard Entertainment’s games, such as the Warcraft, StarCraft and Diablo games. This year it takes place at the Anaheim Convention Center on November 7 and 8. The convention will feature discussion panels, tournaments, contests, hands-on play of the latest Blizzard Entertainment games and more.
The full event is sold out, but even if you don’t have a ticket, you can still catch the Metallica performance, which will happen during BlizzCon’s closing ceremony on November 8. Fans can order the BlizzCon virtual ticket for $39.99, which offers comprehensive live online coverage of both days of the event, according to Blabbermouth. DirecTV customers have another option as well: they can order the BlizzCon 2014 Pay Per View event, which is also $39.99.
Blizzard Entertainment CEO and co-founder Mike Morhaime says, “We’re thrilled to have METALLICA blowing out our speakers at BlizzCon this year. After two full days of epic gaming and intense eSports action, an earth-shaking concert is the perfect sendoff for everyone at the show and watching from home.”
BlizzCon isn’t the only reason Metallica is in the news. The band is participating in Record Store Day’s Back to Black Friday with Lords of Summer, and they will be joining artists such as Bruce Springsteen and Rihanna for the Veteran’s Day Concert for Valor on November 11. Metallica was also part of the first lineup announcement for the 2015 Rock in Rio Festival, among acts like Taylor Swift and John Legend. Among all of the good news, there are also rumors – more specifically, Anthrax’s Scott Ian claims in his autobiography that Metallica was planning to fire Lars Ulrich before bassist Cliff Burton’s death.
