Run the Jewels has released new song titled “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck”. The song is off Run The Jewels sophomore album RTJ2 and features former Rage Against The Machine frontman Zack De La Rocha.
De La Roach’s appearance on this track comes as a surprise, as he rarely produces music following his split from Rage Against The Machine. The last work he produced was his EP in 2008
Run The Jewels new song “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)” is currently available for fans to hear via soundcloud.
According to BuzzFeed the new song is, “built over a tightly wound loop of De La Rocha’s voice, cuts wide like a sawed-off shotgun, targeting politicians, prisons, preachers and everything in between. “ EI-P explained the ultimate message of the song saying, “We will burn this motherfucker down if shit don’t change.”
Run The Jewels new album, RTJ2 is set for release on October 28 via Mass Appeal Records. In addition to the album, the group is also currently on tour.
