Now a video for the song “Magazine” can be viewed by fans of Glasvegas. The song is from the band’s third studio album Later…When The TV Turns to Static and was released September 2013.
The video has an intriguing and almost haunting opening. Little blank television screens can be seen around a dark room, which calls to mind the album name. The camera moves toward a bright light and then the singing abruptly begins.
The lyrics pop onto the screen throughout the video. Most of the time, they are written on top of a dark background with blinking lights rapidly moving in and out. The video is hypnotizing in a sense.
Every so often faint images can be seen flashing across the screen in the background. They seem to be brief glimpses of life, of the band traveling and performing at shows.
After an important realization dawns on the singer that he needs to love himself first, as described in the lyrics, there are brighter and longer lasting images flashing on the screen as if things are starting to make a little bit more sense in the singer’s world.
