Alice Glass is leaving the band Crystal Castles and launching a solo career. Though the electronic synthpop duo has faithfully served their fans for 10 years, the crystals have shattered and the castles have fallen from the sky—Ethan and Alice have officially broken up.
Ethan Kath and Alice Glass are splitting ways. Earlier today, a series of tweets were sent out from vocalist Alice Glass’ twitter, declaring the duo will no longer pursue music together. This unfortunate news has quickly reached thousands of fans. There has been no further detail on what caused the break up to happen or what Ethan Kath will do without his long-time music partner.
I am leaving Crystal Castles.

For a multitude of reasons both professional and personal I no longer feel that this is possible within CC.

Crystal Castles have had a lot of success in the music industry from their unique partnership in electronic music. According to Fader, “During their 10 years, Crystal Castles released three studio albums, the last one being (III) from 2012.” Although the duo will no longer be performing together, Alice Glass mentions in one of her tweets that she will be pursuing a solo career:
Although this is the end of the band, I hope my fans will embrace me as a solo artist in the same way they have embraced Crystal Castles.
