The album, Seeds, will be released November 17 via Harvest Records and it is the band’s first full-length album in three years. “Careful You” is a heavily electronic song that begins with French lyrics then seamlessly switches to English, as if it were all the same language. The track has a melancholy feel to it and seems as though it is an unorthodox love song. You can watch the abstract lyric video for “Careful You” below.

TV on the Radio’s first single from Seeds was “Happy Idiot,” which also has a lyric video, but more importantly it has an official music video that was made by Funny or Die. The video, directed by Danny Jelinek and written by Jake Fogelnest, had quite the cast – Pee Wee Herman himself, Paul Reubens, appeared in the video, as did Karen Gillan from the BBC’s Dr. Who. It should be evident to anyone listening to “Happy Idiot” and “Careful You” that the two tracks differ greatly in both tone and style.

The Brooklyn group played at the Bottlerock Festival this summer and unveiled three new songs during their performance. In the same month, guitarist and keyboardist Dave Sitek released solo track, “God Damn Beauty,” through his label Federal Prism.
